Who can be a Professional Member?
Any Professional involved in export/import business of any product or one who is aspiring to establish himself/ herself as an exporter/ importer can become a Professional Member after completing the required formalities.

This category of membership is also offered to the old students of NIEM irrespective of their results.

How can one be a Professional Member ?
The application form for Professional Membership can be downloaded, printed, filled up and sent to the NIEM’s office or it can be obtained from the NIEM's office through post on request.

Fee
There is no fee for old students of NIEM.Others should pay a Membership fee of Rs.1000/- (Rupees One Thousand) only which may be sent to NIEM with a DD drawn in favour of National Institute of Export Management payable at Chennai along with the filled up application form.

Duration
The membership will be valid only for one year from the date of registration, which can be renewed.

• Professional Members can avail of the access to the member area by using the password issued by NIEM while enrolling as a member.

• Professional Members can also mention in their visiting cards and letter heads that they hold the membership of NIEM, when and if they start their own export business. But the person is prevented from mentioning it in the advertisement for any business purpose.

• Professional Members will get access to the placement cell of NIEM where the members can post their resume by entering the resume area. They can also check the job openings available in various firms which are connected with NIEM’s Website through the job seek facility.for more detail see Placement Assistance.

• Professional Members can make use of the news letters, details of amendments, policies and circulars available in the Institute’s website. This will enable them to be updated with the current information regarding trade and business in export & import.

• Professional Member can become an organizational member when he/she starts a business firm and can avail of a discount of 10% in organizational membership fee.

• Various doubts of professional members regarding the practical applications of the Foreign Trade Policy and its procedures and other related trade matters can be posted in the discussion board area provided. Different opinions and solutions can be received from other members pertaining to a single problem through the website posted by a member.
